Jason Smyth Paralympian



The following is a Prezi we prepared about Jason Smyth an Irish Paralympian. We presented this at the Transnational meeting in Tomelloso. 



Jason Smyth  - An Irish Paralympic Champion



Jason Smyth is the reigning Paralympic 100m and 200m championHe comes from Co Derry in the North of Ireland (shown in green).Jason competes in the T13 Disability Section as he is legally blind. Jason won a gold medal in Rio, when he finished the 100 metre sprint final in 10.64 seconds
Jason Smyth made history in 2010 when he became the first Paralympian to compete in the European Championships. He qualified for the semi-final when he finished fourth in his heat in a time of 10.63 seconds. He narrowly missed out on a place in the final. He is 29 years old, and currently has 5 Paralympic Gold Medals to his name. Jason was diagnosed with Stargardt's disease when he was eight, a genetic condition where cells in the retina die at a rate that destroys central vision. Tyson Gay, one of the three fastestever sprinters in the world, ranksJason Smyth as one of the five most impressive technical sprinters he has ever seen.Jason is married, and has a baby daughter called Evie
